About the Artist
Hello! My name is Lucy Bailey and I’m a professional wildlife and pet portrait artist based in the lovely county of Gloucestershire.
I've grown up around animals and have always loved drawing them, especially cats. Each one has so many unique characteristics, and I would spend most of my days as a child drawing animal after animal. I decided to turn my love of drawing into a career, after graduating from The University of Gloucestershire with a First in Illustration. Even though I love working in watercolour, and have produced a lot of greetings cards and commissions in this media, I find colouring pencil is the medium that I am most passionate using. It allows me to capture more detail and definition, creating a much more realistic portrait. I currently live with my two cats, Larry and Claude - I love giving animals very human names!
